BANFF MOUNTAIN FILM FESTIVAL – WORLD TOUR

World’s Best Mountain Films Deliver Big Screen Adventure

The most prestigious mountain festival in the world, The Banff Centre’s Banff Mountain Film Festival celebrates its 42th year in 2017 by continuing to bring the best mountain action, environmental, and adventure films to audiences in Banff and in 40 countries across the globe.  Hot on the heels of the festival held every fall in Banff, Alberta, the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour hits the road.

With stops planned in about 400 communities and 40 countries across the globe, the 2016/2017 World Tour features a collection of exhilarating and provocative films that explore life in the mountains. They highlight remote cultures, intense expeditions into exotic landscapes and bring adrenaline-packed sports into sharp focus.

“The best part of hosting the World Tour is being able to witness a community of film buffs and lovers of the outdoors come together to share stories, be inspired to set out on new adventures and learn about the mountains they love,” said Jeff Boggs of Maine Sport Outfitters. “You will always connect with old friends and make new ones at the World Tour screenings.”

This is the 17th year Maine Sport Outfitters has hosted the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour.  Please join us in celebrating the world’s mountains at the Camden Hills HS Strom Auditorium in Rockport on Fri Feb 10th and Sat Feb 11th at 7pm.  Different films will be shown each night!  For tickets and information call 236-7120.  Tickets are: Adult $12 ($10 in advance at Maine Sport), Student $5.  Tickets are good for one show.  Films for each night are listed on our website: www.mainesport.com.

Hello, spring! Our final class is a springtime salute to Maine farmers, the talented folks who keep us supplied with the finest kind of fruits and vegetables, not to mention tasty beef, pork, lamb, chicken and eggs. Actually, in late March we’re least likely to eat local, as we wait for the new harvest to begin. But we’ll look ahead to what’s in store in another few weeks. We’ll call on a talented local farmer to join the group so be sure to have your garden questions ready.
